Expleo is seeking an Embedded Mechanical Design Engineer to work within a systems engineering team on missile projects. You will translate customer needs into robust, verifiable mechanical design concepts and support throughout the product lifecycle.

The role requires cross-disciplinary collaboration, experience in metal and composites, and proficiency with CATIA V5 and MBd. The position combines client site work with home-based work in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in defence/aerospace domains is beneficial.
• Knowledge of CATIA V5 and MBd is desired.

Responsabilités

• Carry out mechanical design activities as part of a multi-skilled Systems Engineering team for missile projects.
• Support aero-structures design, wing and empennage, with emphasis on manufacturability.

Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an Embedded Mechanical Design Engineer with a transversal mechanical design engineering generalists skillset to work with a leading European developer and manufacturer supporting advanced defence and aerospace programmes. The role sits at the heart of engineering delivery, helping to ensure that customer needs are translated into robust, verifiable, and well-managed system requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Design activities as part of a multi-skilled Systems Engineering team to support a missile project.

Qualifications

A degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design / minimum of a HNC in mechanical engineering (or another relevant engineering qualification)

• Trained and experienced in the use of MBD.
• Experienced in data handling processes (converting, translating & transfer)
• Experience of working with novel composite methods of manufacturing.

What do I need before I apply

Due to the nature of this work, work would be required to be carried out on Client provided equipment, with the place of work based from a combination of Client Site and home.

Up to 5 days per week onsite per week.

Must hold an active DV clearance.
