Job summary

TheBusiness, Bolton, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design for bespoke machinery and automation systems.

You will design from concept to manufacture, lead prototyping and R&D, and ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and stainless-steel friendly. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault is essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a machinery manufacturing environment.
• Experience designing bespoke machinery, conveyors or handling equipment.
• Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
• Experience designing with stainless steel.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience with sheet metal design.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke machinery from concept through to manufacture.
• Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Lead R&D, prototyping and new machine development.
• Design sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated components.
• Ensure designs are practical, efficient and manufacturable.
• Support machine build, test, installation and commissioning phases.
• Contribute ideas to improve machine performance, build quality and efficiency.

TheRole

ThisisauniqueopportunityforaMechanicalDesignEngineertotakefullownershipofmechanicaldesignwithinthebusiness.

TheMechanicalDesignEngineerwillberesponsibleforthedesignanddevelopmentofbespokemachineryandautomationsystemsfromconceptthroughtomanufacture,testingandinstallation.

TheMechanicalDesignEngineerwilldesignnewmachineryfromscratch,leadconceptdevelopment,prototypingandR&D,andtakedesignsthroughtomanufacture.

TheMechanicalDesignEngineermustbeproficientinAutodeskInventorandVault.

TheyarelookingforaMechanicalDesignEngineerwhoiscomfortableontheworkshopfloorandinvolvedwithmachinebuildsastheyaredesigningonscreen.

Theisrolesinvolvesdesignmachinery,solvingengineeringchallengesandseeingyourideasmovefromconceptthroughtomanufactureandfinalbuild.
