Job summary

Maxwell Bond is supporting an established engineering business in recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of mechanical design across several technically complex programmes.

The role suits someone with a strong aerospace, defence, or similarly regulated engineering background, with experience taking designs from concept through detailed design, build, integration and test.

Qualifications

• - Strong mechanical design experience using SolidWorks or CATIA.
• - Metallic and composite structural design.
• - UAV, eVTOL, Aerospace experience or equivalent.
• - GD&T and manufacturing-ready engineering drawings.
• - Prototyping, integration and test support.
• - FEA, hand calculations and engineering trade studies.
• - PDM/PLM and controlled design release.
• - Experience leading technical work and supporting less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• - Take ownership of mechanical design across programmes.
• - Lead technical work and support less experienced engineers.
• - Provide prototyping, integration and test support.
• - Perform FEA, hand calculations and trade studies.
• - Ensure design release via PDM/PLM.
• - Adhere to GD&T and produce manufacturing-ready drawings.
