Rigging Projects is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Totton to take ownership of product development from concept to manufacture. You will join a highly skilled team designing premium deck hardware for the global superyacht industry and influence product development through rigorous CAD work and analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-performance engineering environments (marine, motorsport, aerospace or precision engineering).
• Proven ability to create 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Strong GD&T, tolerancing and mechanical assembly design knowledge.
• Experience leading complete design lifecycle from concept to manufacture.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development and existing engineering projects.
• Design mechanical components and assemblies from concept through to manufacture.
• Produce high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings.
• Apply GD&T and tolerancing to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.
• Carry out engineering calculations and FEA analysis where required.
• Work closely with production teams to optimise designs for manufacture and assembly.
• Support prototype builds, testing and continuous product improvement.
• Collaborate across engineering and manufacturing to deliver exceptional products.

• An excellent understanding of GD&T, tolerancing and mechanical assembly design.
• Experience taking products through the complete design lifecycle from concept to manufacture.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to engineering quality.
• The confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative engineering team.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced engineering environment.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
