Job summary

A leading company in the water and wastewater industry seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking for your next role? Finlay Jude Associates are working with a leading company that specializes in providing solutions across the water and wastewater industry.

You will ensure that cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are designed, approved, and handed over to the construction teams in line with programme expectations.

Responsibilities of a Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Produce outline and detailed mechanical designs that are cost-effective, meet client specifications, and can be purchased, installed, and commissioned effectively.
• Produce and check all design deliverables including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
• Ensure designs are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations.
• Utilize standard designs and practices wherever possible.
• Deliver design outputs within the agreed timescale and budget.
• Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines.
• Prepare monthly project status reports.
• Establish relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design in the water/process industry.
• Chartered or near-chartered in a relevant construction discipline.
• Experience in the water treatment industry.
• Working knowledge of CDM and construction health & safety.
