Teamjobs is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our exclusive client in Yeovil.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated engineer with experience in the aerospace industry. You will be required to design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. You should have knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines, including familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. The role involves working under supervision to perform job functions.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility to work over 4 days.

The pay rate is £35.00-£45.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Focus on REACH obsolescence within the current product range, identifying obsolescence issues, and investigating suitable alternatives based on product specifications.
2. Support development concept designs, including analysis, with awareness of manufacturing methodologies and cost considerations.
3. Perform detailed design work and process engineering changes.
4. Manage all drawings and related project documentation.
5. Work on complex aerospace engineering projects across various areas.
