Job summary

AVD Appoint is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Cambridgeshire-based manufacturing group. You will lead the development of mechanical engineering solutions across various projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards and installation requirements.

You will manage the full lifecycle from concept through to installation. The ideal candidate has at least five years’ experience, strong 3D CAD skills, and experience designing heavy fabricated steel structures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Designer or similar.
• Experience with 3D CAD.
• Experience designing heavy fabricated steel structures.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Cambridgeshire - up to £50,000 + Benefits - Ref 2067

I am currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a key client of mine based in Cambridgeshire. Salary up to £50,000 + Bonus + Benefits.

This company is a specialist in their market who have been around for over 50 years, setting standards across the UK and Europe delivering complex Engineering solutions.

To cope with their current expansion plans, they have the need to appoint an additional Mechanical Designer on a permanent basis.

In this role as a Mechanical Design Engineer you'll be responsible for, leading the development of mechanical engineering solutions across a range of projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards and operational requirements. You will be involved in the full engineering lifecycle from concept through to installation. In addition to this, you'll also assess design feasibility, resolve technical challenges, coordinate external engineering specialists where needed, and ensure all solutions are safe, practical, reliable and fit for purpose.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Designer or similar
• Experience with 3D CAD
• Experience designing heavy fabricated steel structures
