Job description

Capgemini Engineering is seeking to hire Design Engineers with expertise in non-conformance within the aerospace/marine engineering sector.

Work Environment: Hybrid working model involving Company offices, client sites, and home, with the understanding that 100% remote work is not permitted.

Pre-employment Checks: Successful candidates will undergo identity verification, nationality or immigration status checks, employment history review for the past 3 years, and a criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

Your Role

As a Non-conformance Design Engineer in the Design Engineering department, your responsibilities will include:

1. Assessing non-conformance via Concession/Deviation Permits or Drawing Alteration Requests (DAR).
2. Preparing reports on Concession/Deviation Permit/DAR submissions to support disposition decisions.
3. Writing Technical Assessment Reports (TARs).
4. Reviewing engineering drawings.
5. Performing tolerancing calculations and bolt checks.
6. Collaborating with non-conformance specialists.
7. Following established procedures and specifications.
8. Implementing Design for Manufacture (DfM) best practices.

Your Skills and Experience

Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience designing aero/marine-engine systems and components such as compressors, turbines, combustors, bearings, seals, casings, and fittings.
• Knowledge of aerospace/marine manufacturing processes (desirable).
• Experience with manufacturing, producibility, concessions, NCE, SAR, DAR, TAD, AR, PDG, and related processes (desirable).
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet client needs.
• Experience liaising with specialist teams (stress, materials).
• Strong team collaboration skills, capable of working effectively under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to communicate and report at various levels.
