Job summary

Bar Hill is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established product development business in Cambridgeshire. You will develop concepts through to prototype and production, producing 3D CAD models and detailed drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role offers hands-on experience with electro-mechanical products, materials, and finishing techniques, with opportunities to own mechanical design projects and contribute to the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or related discipline.
• Experience with 3D CAD and SolidWorks.
• Understanding manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and finishing.
• Hands-on prototyping or workshop experience.
• Experience developing electro-mechanical or consumer products.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs from initial concept through to prototype, manufacture and production
• Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings
• Build and assemble prototypes
• Prepare manufacturing documentation, assembly instructions and technical drawings
• Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical issues

Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: £35k-£45k (depending on experience) Location: Cambridgeshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and innovative product development business. The company designs and manufactures high-quality, technically complex electro-mechanical products, taking projects from initial concept and development through to production. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineer looking to develop their career within a hands-on engineering environment.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle while developing your ability to take ownership of mechanical design projects.
