Job summary

Hunter Selection Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales to design medical devices from concept to market release and develop 3D models of legacy products. The role includes engineering requirements for ECOs, change management, and rigorous verification/validation.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of design experience in manufacturing, a degree in engineering, and familiarity with PLM systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in DFMEA / Risk Analysis and usability engineering file compilation.
• Experience designing in a manufacturing environment.
• Degree-qualified with 1–2 years of design experience ideal.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop medical devices from concept to market release.
• Create parametric 3D models of legacy products.
• Provide engineering requirements for ECOs and change management.
• Perform verification and validation of components and assemblies (ISIR as required).
• Maintain engineering records in the PLM system.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Product Design and development of medical devices from concept to market release
• Create parametrically editable 3D models of legacy products
• Provides engineering requirement for ECO's
• Communicate technical information (Verbal / written) underpinned with engineering principles and evidence in a clear and concise manner (GDP)
• Carry out design updates for any design changes as part of the change management process
• Verification and validation of components and assemblies. (ISIR and appropriate testing, as required)
• Records all formal and relevant informal engineering information in the plm system
• Modification/amendment of new/existing drawings in accordance with design standards
• Other reasonable duties which you may be requested to perform from time to time by your manager

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Problem solving techniques (i.e. DFMEA / Risk Analysis)
• Experience in compiliation of usability engineering file
• Open to the background of this person as long as they have worked in manufacturing.
• Experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• A degree qualified person with 1-2 years design experience would be a perfect fit for this role.
