Job summary

Expleo is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers with checking experience to support Defence projects at the Belfast, UK office. A hybrid setup of 3 days on-site and 2 days from home is acceptable.

You will independently check mechanical drawings and 3D models to BS8888:2020, verify CAD models against drawing packs, and raise ECNs/NCs in Windchill while liaising with design, manufacturing and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering theory and principles expected.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project gateways.
• Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Independent technical checking of drawings and 3D models to BS8888:2020.
• Check drawings for dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, surface texture, welding symbols.
• Verify CATIA V5/CREO models against 2D packs and design intent.
• Raise Design Queries, ECNs and NCs in Windchill and support closure.
• Support design reviews, FAI, and configuration management.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality in a secure site environment.
