Expleo in Belfast, UK is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers with checking experience to join our defence-focused team. A Hybrid working arrangement of 3 days onsite per week and 2 days working from home is acceptable.

You will perform independent technical checking of drawings and 3D models to BS8888:2020, and verify CATIA V5 and CREO models against design intent while ensuring compliance with MOD standards.

Qualifications

• A good engineering theory understanding and grasp of engineering principles.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a group.
• Flexibility to work under pressure and meet gateway requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking with regular progress updates.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Office packages and Excel for data recording and reporting.
• Analytical data interpretation and reporting of large data sets.

Responsabilités

• Independent technical checking of drawings and 3D models to BS8888:2020.
• Check mechanical drawings to BS8888 including dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, surface texture, welding symbols.
• Verify CATIA V5 and CREO models against 2D drawing packs and design intent.
• Ensure compliance with DEF-STAN 00-970, JSP 886, MOD standards and procedures.
• Raise Design Queries, ECNs and NCs in Windchill and support closure with design engineers.
• Support design reviews, FAI, and configuration management.
• Work closely with manufacturing and quality in a secure site environment.
