Job summary

Anglian Water Services is offering a Mechanical Degree Apprentice Level 6 based in Peterborough with a flexible hybrid approach and some homeworking. The role includes supporting mechanical design, testing, analysis, reporting and quality assurance while helping projects run on time and on budget.

On completion you gain a BEng (Hons) Electro-mechanical Engineering and a clear progression path into leadership or specialist roles.

Location: Thorpe Wood House, Peterborough. Please note role may take you to some locations across the region, so some flexibility is essential. Your base location will be Thorpe Wood House, and we offer a flexible hybrid working approach, with the opportunity to work from home up to 1-2 days per week where business needs allow.

Your programme

What you’ll be doing

Apprentices will develop strong mechanical skills you can apply straight away in the workplace. You will be able to support mechanical design, testing, analysis, reporting, and quality assurance, while helping projects stay on time and on budget. You will also provide valuable technical guidance and support, becoming a confident, skilled engineer who adds real impact from day one.

Most importantly, we’re looking for apprentices who want to help shape the future of water while developing a successful and rewarding career of their own.

For this role you will need:

• 3 GCSEs at grade A*-C /4-9 including English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) and meet age-related Maths requirements as outlined by the DfE.*
• 96 UCAS Tariff points. We accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, OCR, Access to HE and most other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff.
• High level of self-motivation and willingness to learn.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and good communication skills.
• Organised, flexible, and able to manage time effectively.
• Full UK driving license (or in the process of obtaining one)

At the end of this 4.5 - 5 year degree apprenticeship you will be awarded with BEng (Hons) Electro-mechanical Engineering.
