Mechanical Data Centre Shift Engineer – Slough

Location: West London

Salary: £46K plus 10% Bonus

Hours: CONTINENTAL SHIFT

Our client, with over 40 years of experience, is looking for a Critical Mechanical Shift Engineer to join their Reactive and Planned Maintenance Team on a Data Centre Site in West London. The successful candidate will work a Continental Shift pattern and receive a salary of £46K plus a 10% annual bonus. Overtime is available, and there are excellent opportunities for career progression within the company, which values internal growth and stability.

Duties:

  • Maintain environmental conditions and ensure 100% uptime of all Mechanical & Electrical critical building systems.
  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive, and breakdown works on all mechanical and electrical systems as part of the 24/7 on-site team.
  • Handle daily emergency callouts.
  • Monitor data centre environments for changes, identify causes, and report findings to the team and customer.
  • Support in maintaining 100% uptime for customer data centres.
  • Assist with activities related to building move-ins, such as isolations, connections, and work permits.
  • Maintain systems and assets using digital tools and platforms (training provided). Embrace new technologies and techniques.
  • Complete logbooks and RAMS documentation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of AHU, FCU, UPS, Generators, LV systems, including fault-finding skills.

Requirements:

  • Trade-trained with at least 3 years’ experience in building services.
  • City & Guilds Mechanical or Plumbing qualification, Parts 1 & 2, or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Willing to be authorised as Mechanical AP on site.
  • Experience working on critical sites such as data centres or banking facilities.
