At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates all main MEH, cabling, and support services, enabling contractors to work seamlessly together to install cabling and pipework in the power station’s rooms.

The role

As a Construction Engineer - Mechanical, you will lead and motivate the team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.

Responsibilities include delivering Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks, supporting the MEH Alliance programme, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.

• Use Procon system for construction works and progress reporting.
• Manage Work Authorization and Permit systems with NNB.
• Coordinate safe access routing to workfaces.
• Support topographical and other surveys.
• Prioritize and own documentation to enable construction as per the plan.
• Ensure documents are compliant with latest information and MEH documentation.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience

• Experience in major construction projects within a highly regulated sector, with knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications

• HNC/ONC or equivalent vocational training and experience in installing Mechanical and Piping systems.

The candidate must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance.
