Job Description Summary

Nadara is a global renewable energy company and one of Europe’s largest independent power producers. In the UK, Nadara has over 1GW of operational onshore wind.

As a vital member of the Asset Management Team, reporting to the Area Manager for the allocated area, you will oversee the safe and optimal performance of renewable energy assets. The role involves managing contractors to execute planned and corrective maintenance within specified time, quality, and cost parameters across your designated region. As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of power plants, ensuring that internal procedures are followed and that suppliers are in line with best practices within the sector, promoting health and safety at work.

Location

This is a remote role. The candidate must be based in Scotland Central.

Key Responsibilities
HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental):
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel on site, adhering to regulations and legislation.
  • Uphold effective HSQE standards across the wind farm portfolio under your management.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of contractors for QHSE compliance.
  • Document safety incidents promptly, investigate as needed, provide recommendations and ensure the implementation of the agreed improvements.
  • Lead emergency planning with regular exercises to verify its effectiveness.
Technical
  • Oversee and coordinate site O&M service activities, ensuring the reconciliation of O&M reported metrics and the respect of QHSE standards.
  • Operate the plant(s) with a focus on availability maximizing the generation.
  • Monitor the asset KPIs and provide daily notices and structured info about the asset operational status, maintenance plans, and downtime events to all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and support investigation/RCAs of complex technical issues; activate all required internal stakeholders to ensure proper specialized engagement to reduce turbine downtimes and react appropriately. Participate in fault finding and rectification where possible.
  • Perform frequent site quality inspections on all installed machines and relevant equipment; generate reports and punch lists for QHSE and service quality tracking; ensure follow-up and implementation of remedial works. When required, operate systems and relevant equipment (especially HV/LV equipment) and perform minor corrective maintenance activities to improve asset performance.
  • Obtain authorization under HV safety rules and coordinate component exchanges.
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance, manage statutory checks and corrective maintenance, minimizing asset or generation unit downtimes.
  • Collaborate with Asset Excellence to plan and implement performance improvement actions and support project delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks impacting performance targets.
  • Investigate major outages to prevent re-occurrence and ensure lessons learned.
  • Collaborate in value-added projects to monitor asset efficiency, ensuring correct installation and operation of equipment.
Commercial
  • Deliver works within defined budgets, maximizing profitability.
  • Generate PRs/POs for goods and services, ensuring business continuity with support from Procurement and using company systems.
  • Manage wind farms within budget expectations, communicate variances.
  • Contribute to annual budgets for operating and capital expenditures.
  • Focus on performance improvements to enhance profitability without compromising safety or quality.
Contractor Management
  • Maintain high standards in contractor performance and stakeholder engagement.
  • Implement work plans emphasizing efficient turbine generation.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders through regular communication.
  • Conduct frequent contractor audits to ensure governance against contract deliverables.
  • Oversee project management for on-time, on-budget delivery with minimal site impact.
Reporting
  • Produce monthly operational reports on Asset Management activities and performance.
  • Work with Operational Analysts to address turbine performance issues.
  • Provide inputs for business cases and technical reports for knowledge sharing and improvement.
On-Call Responsibilities
  • Participate in a rotational on-call system within the area.
  • Be available for site attendance outside regular hours.
  • Support site remotely for instructions related to market operations and energy management.
