The LH Group, a division of Wabtec UK Ltd, based in Burton on Trent, seeks an experienced Mechanical Competence Assessor / Trainer to ensure staff competency in maintenance and overhaul activities on trains.

You will conduct core and safety-critical competence assessments, develop procedures from PRIP, deliver internal training, inductions, and briefs, and align practices with WUK-S-HR-021 standards while engaging stakeholders at all levels.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Competence Assessor / Trainer to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains., To conduct training and safety critical competence assessment plans in all WRL business units, working to recognised standards and procedures, ensuring that our staff are competent to carry out their role, with the relevant assessments being kept up to date to ensure compliance. What you will be doing…

• Be compliant to the requirements of WUK-S-HR-021 Competence management.
• Conduct core and safety critical Competence Assessment Procedures when required in all business units.
• Review and plan upcoming and expired Competence Assessment Plans.
• Create new Competence Assessment Procedures identified through the Project Risk Identification Process (PRIP).
• Conduct Internal training when required.
• Conduct new starter Inductions, training and competence briefs.
• Participate in company QPS activities as required from time to time.
• Undertake any other activities, which you have the relevant skills and competence.

• Ability to strictly align practices with corporate frameworks, specifically WUK-S-HR-021 standards.
• Skill in translating Project Risk Identification Process (PRIP) data into new assessment procedures.

• Active familiarity with Quality, Performance, and Safety (QPS) frameworks and continuous improvement activities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
