Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer for Northampton. The role focuses on living design for residential, student accommodation and hotel projects, with responsibilities across the full project lifecycle.

You will develop mechanical/public health designs from initial concept through to handover, collaborating with estimating, BIM and delivery teams. A Level 4/5 qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, with strong

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical and public health building services design.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge across mechanical and public health services.
• Experience across multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of Building Safety Act and Higher Risk Buildings.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work with budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical and public health designs through project stages up to BSRIA Stage 6.
• Support the estimating team with tenders for design and build projects.
• Work with the BIM team to develop spatially coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Support project teams through installation, commissioning and handover.
• Ensure designs comply with employer requirements, statutory requirements and relevant standards.
• Liaise with specialist subcontractors and suppliers involved in project delivery.
