Job summary

Quast Ltd is seeking a Mechanical & Automotive Lead (IDT 1096) for the Mobile Fires Platform (MFP) within the DE&S Land domain. This hybrid role requires on-site presence at least 2 days per week at MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol (or contractor location) with a competitive daily rate up to £550 Inside IR35.

The project is a high-priority, Category A government funded program with delivery milestones through 2029. The candidate will provide SME support across multiple contracts, manage technical risks,

Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience of military land vehicles and associated systems

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyse technical hazards / project impacts and contribute to risk reduction measures with proper documentation.
• Ensure engineering contractual deliverables meet MoD policy and system requirements; document and manage technical risks.
• Review and authorise contractor data; identify non-conformances and manage to closure.
• IAW the ECD, QRA and production contract timescales and deliverables.
• Support to legalisation assessments, identifying non-conformances and manage to closure.
• Provide technical input into legislation exemption committees and meetings with the contractor.
• Manage system test, verification, validation, and evaluation processes.
• V&V planning and review of contractor V&V data; produce technical reports post trials.
• Participate in assurance, audit, and reviews activities; provide technical information to support assurance.
