Job summary

IMT Resourcing Solutions in Stroud is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering manufacturer. You will work within a skilled production team, assembling high-quality equipment from detailed drawings and ensuring assemblies meet stringent standards.

The role involves reading drawings, marking out, cutting, pipe bending and final assembly, plus inspection for quality and adherence to health and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience assembling mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Stroud.

Working as part of a skilled production team, you'll be involved in the assembly and build of high-quality engineered equipment, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce complex mechanical assemblies to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for assembling a wide range of mechanical systems and fabricated components, ensuring products are built accurately, safely and to specification.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Mechanical fitting and final assembly of engineered products
• Reading and interpreting engineering and assembly drawings
• Marking out, cutting, pipe bending and preparing fabricated components
• Inspecting completed assemblies to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
• Working to health and safety procedures at all times
• Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high manufacturing standards

About You

We're looking for someone with a practical engineering background and excellent attention to detail.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Technician or Manufacturing Technician role
• The ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings
• Experience assembling mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Competence using a wide range of hand and power tools
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
