Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Walsall, working day shifts. You will fit, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical equipment and machinery, interpret drawings and respond to breakdowns with accuracy and safety.

Ideal candidates have proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter, are proficient with hand tools, and can read engineering drawings. This temporary to permanent role offers holiday entitlement, pension and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter.
• Competent with hand tools and able to work to tight tolerances.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Mechanical Fitter: Day Shift | Walsall | £14.00 per hour

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Walsall, working day shifts.

Role Overview

• Fit, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical equipment and machinery
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and respond promptly to breakdowns
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions accurately
• Diagnose faults and resolve issues efficiently and safely
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure work areas are left tidy
• Adhere strictly to health and safety policies and procedures at all times

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter
• Competent in using hand tools with the ability to work to precise tolerances
• Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a teamNVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not essential with demonstrable experience
• Reliable with strong timekeeping and a professional attitude
• Competitive pay at £14.00 per hour
• Day shifts, Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00
