Job summary

SABIC is seeking an Assistant Area Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to plan and specify maintenance work on TEESSIDE. The role requires SAP, DRS and Sabic Inspection Database proficiency, with a broad maintenance/engineering background and COMAH plant exposure.

Ideal candidates will have experience towards Incorporated Engineer status, strong decision-making and communication skills, and a focus on safe, cost-effective maintenance interventions.

Qualifications

• IT literacy is required to operate SAP, DRS and Sabic Inspection Database and other computer-based systems.
• Broad background in maintenance and engineering with COMAH-registered plant experience preferred.
• Candidate working towards Incorporated Engineer status with a Professional Engineering Institution.
• Extensive experience in a similar role will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan and specify maintenance work in line with SABIC standards and workflows.
• Provide engineering advice, diagnose equipment faults and mitigate EHSS & Production risks.
• Define scope and prepare documentation to enable cost‑effective delivery.
• Collate and analyse equipment reliability and maintenance expenditure for improvement opportunities.
