Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Mechanical & LPG Engineer to join a well-established family‑run SME in the UK. The role covers servicing, maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and inspections across mechanical equipment and LPG systems, with LPG training provided. Domestic/Gas qualifications are encouraged to apply.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure safety and compliance across diverse engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Domestic Gas Engineer qualification or experience is valued.
  • LPG engineering interest and willingness to train further.

Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance and servicing of mechanical systems.
  • Fault finding and diagnostics across LPG and mechanical equipment.
  • Engine repairs and replacements; hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Mast servicing, welding and fabrication, and field service/ breakdown support.
  • On-site repairs, maintenance, and compliance checks including LOLER/PUWER.

Mobile Mechanical & LPG Engineer

We are seeking a multi‑skilled engineer to carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and inspections across a variety of mechanical equipment and systems. While previous LPG experience is beneficial, it is not essential. Candidates with Domestic Gas qualifications or experience are particularly encouraged, as these skills provide an excellent foundation for full LPG training and development.

Role

This is a truly multi‑skilled engineering position, combining elements of mechanical engineering, LPG systems, hydraulics, electrical fault finding, welding and fabrication, marine engineering, and field service and breakdown support.

You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational.
