Job summary

Key Integrated Services (Maintenance) Limited seeks a skilled Gas Engineer to maintain and repair gas systems across diverse sites. The role focuses on safety compliance, dampening systems and undertaking PPM tasks with hands-on plumbing experience.

Candidates should hold current Gas Safe registration, gas certifications, and NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating, with a willingness to travel and hold a valid driving licence. The position involves a 40-hour week plus overtime in a mobile capacity.

Qualifications

  • Current, in-date domestic and commercial gas certification (essential).
  • Current Gas Safe Registration.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating.
  • Experience in building maintenance environments and SFG20 maintenance.
  • Proven experience as Gas Engineer or similar in mechanical/plumbing sectors.
  • Knowledge of gas systems, safety standards and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Support sites in delivering building services, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services via the PPM schedule or as requested by the Help Desk or Service Managers.
  • Maintain, service, fault find, and test commercial gas and heating systems.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out maintenance tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance on processes, procedures, statutory regulations, approved codes of practice, and HTMs.
  • Work with and support the projects/construction team and technical services supervisor in identifying, scoping, and delivering minor capital works.
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist with system testing to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team, supporting our work to engineer, build and maintain critical facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing gas systems across a variety of settings, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and regulations that underpin essential infrastructure. The role is ideal for individuals with a strong mechanical background, hands‑on plumbing experience, and proficiency in using hand and power tools. The position involves physically demanding work and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

Location: Mobile Engineer covering the north of England

Contract Type: 40-hours per week plus overtime

Salary: Competitive rate of pay

Experience
  • Current, in-date domestic and commercial gas certification (essential)
  • Current Gas Safe Registration
  • Commercial gas modules such as CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating
  • Previous experience working within a building maintenance environment
  • Experience delivering maintenance services to a specification such as SFG20
  • Proven experience working as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role within the mechanical or plumbing sectors
  • Demonstrable knowledge of gas systems, safety standards, and relevant legislation
