We’re looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair our clients vehicles and equipment. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining high standards of safety and quality, ensuring smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:
– Service Delivery:
Assist in supervising vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs.
Diagnose and rectify faults, document work, and maintain flexible working patterns.
Perform welding and fitting as needed.
– Quality Assurance:
Conduct maintenance and repair quality checks.
Ensure compliance with VOSA/DSA standards and complete all required documentation.
– Health & Safety:
Follow and enforce the Council’s health and safety policies.
Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
Operate tools and equipment safely, complying with legal requirements.

Other Duties:
Drive vehicles for testing and delivery
Be available for callouts, assist in staff training, and undertake additional duties as required

Person Specification:
– Essential:
Level 1 or 2 City & Guilds or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Repair.
Experience in a heavy vehicle/plant environment.
Ability to diagnose and repair all types of vehicles and equipment.
Driving License
– Desirable:
Level 3 City & Guilds.
Additional vehicle-related qualifications.
Supervisory experience and knowledge of computerised systems.
