Job summary

Anthony Brookes Surveys Ltd is a well established survey company based in Bristol, nationally operating, seeking a Measured Building Surveyor to join its team. You will perform field surveys and office processing, gaining knowledge of surveying practices before handling your own surveys.

The role involves travel, away-from-home work, and occasional night shifts. A comprehensive remuneration package applies for off-core hours, along with pension and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of industry experience in measured building surveying.
• Experience with laser scanners, total stations, GPS and CAD or Revit.
• Be able to communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Willing to undergo DBS checks and relevant industry training.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Measured Building Surveys using specialist equipment.
• Carry out supervised and unsupervised fieldwork.
• Process data in the office to produce quality measured surveys.
• Ensure work meets company and industry quality standards.
• Engage with colleagues and clients professionally across sectors.

Anthony Brookes Surveys Ltd is a well established, survey company with a first class reputation. Based in Bristol and working nationally, we undertake a wide range of survey including Measured Building, Topographic, Rail, Setting Out and Monitoring.

We are currently looking for a motivated and committed individual to join our Measured Building Surveying team.

The buildings we work on range from terraced properties through to listed manor houses/churches, hospitals, universities and schools.

Our clients are a mixture of residential, commercial, heritage and public sector.

The Role

The role will involve a mixture of field work and office work processing and drafting. Initially you would work alongside our surveyors to gain detailed knowledge of our current surveying practices and kit before moving onto carrying out your own surveys.

The role will require travel and working away from home, with occasional night shifts. However, a comprehensive additional remuneration package is in place for all hours worked outside of a core 40 hour working week, including paid travel

The role will suit someone with around 2-3 plus years of industry experience, who can demonstrate the skills required to produce a detailed final 2D/3D measured survey.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Measured Building Surveys using a variety of specialist equipment
• Carry out both supervised and unsupervised fieldwork
• Processed gathered data in the office environment, following technical guidance and best practice, to produce quality controlled measured surveys
• Making sure that all work meets both Company and industry quality standards
• Engage with colleagues at all levels and clients across various sectors in a professional manner at all times
• Support the development of in-house trainees to use survey equipment and process survey data

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in aspects of measured building surveying including laser scanners, total stations, GPS and drafting in CAD and/or Revit
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to use MS office software such as word and Excel.
• Self motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
• A strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence
• Have the Right to work in the UK
• Absence of drug or alcohol related offences within the last five years is essential, due to some of the site environments/restrictions we work with
• Willing to undergo DBS checks for working in education environments
• Willingness to undertake relevant industry training and certification as required
• HNC/HND/TSA Qual/Degree or diploma in surveying or a related disclipline would be advantageous, however, candidates with suitable skills and proven industry experience will also be considered.
