Job summary

IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law seeks a Project MEAL Officer to design and implement planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes ensuring performance against donor and IUCN standards. You will develop MEL components, budgets and workplans, and facilitate learning with project teams.

The role requires coordinating with partners and IUCN Members, ensuring quality assurance and alignment with internal guidelines and donor requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in performance and accountability, results measurement and management in conservation or development.
• Experience designing, implementing and managing complex MEL for multi-country or multi-partner projects.
• At least 8 years of international MEL experience is preferred.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills with broad international experience.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French/Spanish is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes to measure project performance against donor and IUCN standards.
• Coordinate data collection, analysis and synthesis across project teams and partners.
• Provide technical support and capacity development on MEL to project teams.
• Prepare reports and contribute to donor communications and learning activities.
• Support risk management and project finalisation, including evaluations and lessons learned.
