Job Role:

Maths Tutor at HMP Peterborough

Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities and courses to help prisoners achieve their functional skills qualification in Maths.
• Monitor attendance, achievement, and progression of learning.
• Challenge negative behaviors and boost prisoners' self-esteem through a self-directed learning/teaching style.
• Ensure prisoners leave empowered with the ability and desire to learn more, considering their diverse needs, including undiagnosed learning difficulties and neurodivergence.

Work Environment:

• Year-round education with no term-based constraints.
• Smaller class sizes (6-12 students) for learner-centric teaching.
• On-site learner files and daily administrative time, focusing on in-class instruction and support.
