Seeking an Inspirational Maths Teacher for a Specialist School
About Us
We are a pioneering independent specialist school dedicated to providing a high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education for pupils aged 11 to 17. Our students have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and many also have associated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
As a trauma and attachment-informed organisation, we provide all staff with extensive therapeutic training and support. Our collaborative approach ensures that education and therapy professionals, parents, carers, and local authorities work together to achieve outstanding outcomes for every child.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics specialist to join our team. At our school, we believe we are all primarily teachers of children before teachers of subjects. The core of this role is to build professional, nurturing, and positive relationships that motivate and inspire our students.
You will be responsible for delivering our Maths curriculum, which spans Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE. You will receive support from national subject champions to enhance your expertise and ensure the best possible learning outcomes for the children you work with.
We are looking for an educator who can create a sense of awe and wonder, making lessons real, relevant, and engaging. You will plan exciting learning opportunities that challenge and stretch our students, whether they are building foundational skills or possess a special talent for the subject.
A key aspect of this role is the ability to manage complex and challenging behaviours with a non-judgemental and consistent approach. Our students require teachers who are patient, flexible, and skilled in communication.
We value our teachers' contributions to the school's development, from shaping the academic curriculum to enriching our extra-curricular activities with their own interests and passions.
Benefits and Rewards
We review applications on an ongoing basis and may close this advertisement early if we find a suitable candidate.
If you are a dedicated and compassionate teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply.
