Our client is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a secondary school in Ipswich from January. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys making Mathematics accessible, challenging pupils to think logically and helping learners develop the confidence to tackle increasingly complex problems. The successful candidate will contribute to a department focused on strong curriculum delivery, effective assessment and improving outcomes for pupils of different abilities.

The appointed teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Lessons should incorporate clear modelling, purposeful questioning, guided practice and opportunities for independent problem-solving.

The school is looking for someone who can establish positive classroom routines and maintain high expectations while recognising that pupils progress at different rates. The successful applicant will adapt their teaching to address misconceptions, provide targeted support to learners who are struggling and stretch those who demonstrate a strong understanding of the subject. Regular assessment and constructive feedback will be essential in helping pupils recognise their progress and understand how to improve.

The Maths Teacher will also support pupils preparing for GCSE examinations by developing examination technique, strengthening core knowledge and helping learners become more confident when approaching multi-step problems. Working collaboratively with departmental colleagues, the successful candidate will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment moderation and discussions about effective teaching strategies.
