Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd is seeking a motivated Maths Teacher for a secondary school in the Barnsley area to start September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term supply post with an initial temporary contract and a chance to secure a permanent role after a three-month trial.

Open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers, with strong support and development opportunities. The role involves planning and delivering Maths lessons, assessing progress, and contributing to the department

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is required.
Degree in Mathematics or related subject.
Proven experience teaching Mathematics in secondary school.
Strong knowledge of National Curriculum for KS3 & KS4.
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
Two education/school references.
DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Assess, monitor and track student progress, implementing interventions where required.
Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and achievement.
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all students.
Contribute to departmental initiatives and support the wider life of the school.
