Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Maths Teacher for a North Bristol school serving pupils aged 7-19 with Autism and related needs. The role is full-time and starts September 2026, with pay ranging £145-£230 per day for a candidate with QTS and Maths teaching experience.

The successful applicant will teach Maths at KS3/KS4 including GCSE/Functional Skills, supporting learners toward functional and entry-level qualifications. A car/own transport is required due to the location.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with Autism and communication needs.
• Strong classroom management and ability to adapt for SEND.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths to KS3/KS4, including GCSE/Functional Skills pathways.
• Support pupils toward Functional Skills and entry-level qualifications.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual SEND needs and abilities.
• Maintain engaging, accessible Maths lessons and robust behavior management.

Can you provide engaging and accessible Maths lessons that meet a range of individual learning and communication needs?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in North Bristol supporting young people aged 7-19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs. The school offers a supportive learning environment with excellent behaviour across the school and a curriculum designed to develop both academic achievement and essential life skills.

The school is looking to take on a full-time SEND Maths Teacher from September 2026 on a long-term basis. The successful SEND Maths Teacher will teach Maths at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE and Functional Skills pathways, alongside supporting pupils working towards functional skills and entry-level qualifications, with access to a car or own transport required due to the location of the school.

The successful SEND Maths Teacher will have:

• QTS with experience teaching Maths
• Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths
• Experience supporting young people with Autism and related social and communication needs
• Strong classroom management skills
• The ability to adapt teaching to meet individual SEND needs
• Access to a car or own transport due to the school location
