Job summary

Portland Charity seeks a confident Maths Subject Tutor to join our Main Campus in Mansfield. You will deliver high-quality Maths teaching, including Functional Skills and GCSE Maths, adapting lessons to learners’ needs and supporting progression tutors to build essential workplace skills.

The role requires a passion for teaching and experience in helping learners overcome barriers to learning, with a DBS check and right-to-work verification.

Qualifications

Teaching qualification in Education and Training Level 4 or equivalent.
English and Maths Level 2 or willingness to work towards in an agreed timeframe.
TAQA Level 3 or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe.

Responsibilities

Provide a high standard of teaching and learning in Maths, including delivery of Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics.
Adapt lessons and resources to meet diverse learner needs and abilities.
Collaborate with the Education Team and Progression Tutors to support learners’ study programmes and workplace-ready skills.
Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and develop mathematical knowledge, skills and confidence.
