Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Maths Lecturer to join a college in Hull, with a start date as soon as possible.

This role offers 17.5 hours per week on a part-time basis, with pay ranging from £20-£35 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications. The position focuses on delivering effective Maths lessons and supporting students to achieve their academic goals.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date DBS check.
• Level 3 qualification in Mathematics or a relevant subject.
• PGCE or Cert Ed.
• Relevant teaching experience in Further Education or similar setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging and effective Maths lessons.
• Teaching students across a range of levels and abilities.
• Delivering lessons covering numeracy, algebra, geometry, statistics and problem-solving.
• Preparing students for examinations, assessments and coursework.
• Supporting learners to develop confidence and competence in mathematics.
• Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
• Monitoring and recording student progress, attendance and achievement.
• Creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Differentiating lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Supporting students with academic, personal and professional development.
• Helping learners understand practical applications of Mathematics in FE, employment and everyday life.
• Encouraging logical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider college team.
• Ensuring teaching and learning meets curriculum and awarding-body requirements.

Requirements

• An up-to-date DBS.
• At least a Level 3 qualification in Mathematics or a relevant subject.
• A recognised PGCE or Cert Ed.
• Relevant teaching experience within Further Education or a similar educational setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting students to achieve their potential.
• Have experience working within schools in the UK
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the full CV History
