Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking compassionate Maths and English Tutors to support students in the Durham area who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools. Sessions are face-to-face in a community setting or at the young person's home, focusing on rebuilding confidence and progress.

You will deliver one-to-one or small group tuition, develop personalised lesson plans, monitor progress, and complete attendance and reports to help students reconnect with learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with students who have SEND (e.g. ADHD, SEMH) or are permanently excluded from mainstream settings.
• Background in PRU or similar alternative education contexts is preferred.
• Must have the right to work in the UK and be able to reference recent education/employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths and English.
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans addressing learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide attendance and weekly reports.
• Create a supportive, motivating learning environment to rebuild confidence in learning.
