Job summary

Explore Learning in Walton is seeking tutors to join as part-time coaches for the next academic year. You will support small groups (1:6) across Maths and English, delivering sessions using Compass and building confident, curious learners.

You’ll work 6 hours a week across at least two weekdays, with shifts including Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. The role is on-site at Walton centre and requires eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 6 or above (or predicted).

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons with Compass to support learning progress.
• Build meaningful relationships in a safe, inspiring environment.

The Role

Our tutors act as coaches and mentors, not just instructors, supporting each learner's progress with care and purpose.

As a tutor, you'll play a key role in every child's learning journey by:

Logistics

• Location:This is an on-siteroleand you will be basedatourWaltoncentre.

• Contract: This is a permanent, part time role. You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different weekdays. Ouravailableshiftstart times are:

3:30-4pm Tuesday

3:30-4pm Wednesday

3:30-4pm Thursday

3:30-4pm Friday

Morning/afternoon Saturday

Please note:This is not a summer-only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond.

Pay Rates & Progression:

Earn more as you progress!You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us.

BaseHourly Rate:Under 18: £8:40

18-20: £10.90

21+: £12.75

*anadditional50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.

Requirements: You must be age 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade6or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level orequivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
