Job summary

Explore Learning in Walsall is seeking a dedicated Maths and English Tutor to deliver engaging sessions for children aged 4-16. You will use Compass to tailor lessons, track progress, and stretch learners through structured questioning and scaffolding.

The role focuses on building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning in a supportive, on-site environment. You will work part-time, 6 hours weekly across at least two weekdays, with additional opportunities as you progress.

Qualifications

• Proven tutoring experience with primary/secondary learners.
• Ability to plan and deliver sessions for mixed ages.
• Strong behaviour management and safeguarding awareness.

Location

This is an on‑site role and you will be based at ourWalsallcentre.

Contract

This is a permanent, part time role. You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different weekdays. Our available shift start times are

• 330-4pm Tuesday
• 330-4pm Wednesday
• 330-4pm Thursday
• 330-4pm Friday
• Morning/afternoon Saturday

Please note This is not a summer-only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond.

Pay Rates & Progression

Earn more as you progress!You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us.

• Under 18 £840
• 18-20 £10.90
• 21+ £12.75

• an additional 50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.

Requirements

You must be age 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level orequivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
