Job summary

Explore Learning is seeking a part‑time on‑site Maths and English Tutor in the UK. You will deliver tailored sessions to groups of up to 16, using our Compass platform to stretch and scaffold learning, while building strong relationships with each learner.

You’ll support students aged 4–16 with the national curriculum, 11+ and GCSE content, focusing on progress and confidence in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English at grade 6 or above (or predicted).
• Ability to tutor across the national curriculum and prepare sessions.
• Comfort delivering in mixed-ability groups and ages 4–16.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored sessions using Compass to support learning.

As a tutor, you’ll play a key role in every child’s learning journey

Delivering lessons that last Using our smart learning tool, Compass, you’ll deliver tailored sessions where you facilitate learning through questioning, scaffolding and stretching.

Location

This is an on-site role and you will be based at ourNAME OF CENTREcentre.

Contract

This is a permanent, part‑time role. You will be contracted to work a minimum of 6 hours a week over at least 2 different weekdays. Our available shift start times are

• 3:30-4pm Tuesday
• 3:30-4pm Wednesday
• 3:30-4pm Thursday
• 3:30-4pm Friday
• Morning/afternoon Saturday

Please note This is not a summer‑only role; we are seeking dedicated tutors to support our members throughout the next academic year and beyond.

Pay Rates & Progression

Earn more as you progress! You will start on the base rate for your age group, with an annual opportunity to increase your pay based on the number of hours you have tutored for us.

Base Hourly Rate

Under 18 £840

18-20 £10.90

21+ £12.75

• an additional 50p per hour will be added if working at a centre inside the M25. You will be paid for all training and inductions.

Requirements

You must be age 16 or over and have the right to work in the UK. You must have achieved a grade 6 or above in Maths & English Language at GCSE level or equivalent (we accept predicted GCSE grades if you will be receiving your results within the next 3 months).
