Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an ambitious Mathematics Teacher for a supportive mixed secondary school in Brentwood. You will plan and deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring a balance of explanation, guided practice and independent application to build pupil confidence in mathematics.

The role invites you to contribute to curriculum development, monitor attainment and support GCSE preparation. Experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• QTS, a PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong mathematical subject knowledge and effective communication skills.
• Experience of planning engaging lessons for mixed-ability classes.
• Confidence in assessment, feedback and tracking pupil progress.
• Effective behaviour management and a commitment to maintaining a positive classroom environment.
• Willingness to participate in departmental collaboration and professional development.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons covering the Mathematics curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Identify misconceptions and adapt instruction to challenge students at different levels.
• Support pupils preparing for GCSE examinations and monitor attainment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and develop teaching practices.
• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
