Job summary

Royal Devon is hiring an internal Maternity Tobacco Dependency Advisor (Band 4) to develop tailored support plans, promote smoke-free living, and provide CO monitoring within maternity services. The role requires home visits, a valid driver’s license, and working pattern Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00.

  • Home visits and visits to Community Hubs involved in this role, therefore must have own transport

Role Summary

Develop individually tailored support plans including recommending treatments based on assessed needs.

Provide general health, lifestyle advice and support to people using the service.
Participate in educating pregnant women and birthing people about the benefits of stopping smoking in pregnancy and give support to those wanting to quit.

Promote smoke free homes and support and advise about passive smoking.

Deliver Carbon Monoxide (CO) monitoring to a high standard and engage in the data collection and collation of CO rates in pregnancy and post-partum.
