Job Opportunity: Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant

We have a vacancy at the Royal Stoke Antenatal Clinic for a Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant, with opportunities to rotate to County Antenatal Clinic.

Candidate Profile

We seek enthusiastic individuals with good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Assist, support, and collaborate with midwives and the multidisciplinary team to provide women-centered, holistic care.
2. Support the midwife, who is responsible for the care of the mother and her newborn(s), by providing personal care under supervision after relevant training.
3. Work across various clinical settings, including antenatal inpatient/outpatient, intrapartum inpatient, and postnatal inpatient/outpatient care.
4. Undertake a set of defined competencies, with support for further skill development and career progression.

Training and Development

Training will be provided for the specific clinical setting. The role aligns with the Maternity Support Worker Competency Framework by Health Education England, supporting career development and further study pathways.
