An exciting opportunity has opened for the role of the Maternity Support Worker within our maternity departments at Princess Royal University Hospital. The role involves supporting the midwifery teams to provide individualised care to birthing people and babies throughout their maternity journey and facilitating a positive experience.
We are looking for applicants with experience in working in the maternity care setting who can work independently undertaking allocated tasks whilst remaining under the direct/indirect supervision of a registered midwife.
Please only apply to this role if you are a qualified Maternity Support Worker and have completed the Level 3 Maternity Support Worker qualification or Maternity Support Worker Foundation degree pathway.
Candidates would be supported to undertake the specific competencies relating to their role including the Care Certificate and competencies in the skills passports.
The post holder may be rotated within the maternity departments and will be expected to work pro rota on shift pattern, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Suitable candidates for the role have excellent communication skills, are caring, sensitive and friendly, can work within the multidisciplinary team, prioritize tasks, manage workload, adapt to changing requirements, and maintain a positive approach to work.
