Job summary

New Addington Group Practice, part of Bourne Health, seeks a GP locum for a six-session maternity cover for twelve months. The role centers on face-to-face and telephone consultations in 10-minute slots, with home visits and prescription duties.

Fixed Tuesday and Friday sessions; additional days may be available and some sessions at the Community Diagnostic Centre. Candidates must have full GMC registration, a DBS check, and EMIS experience.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required and GP registrar training completed.
• Post-graduate qualification in general practice (MRCGP or MRCP) preferred.
• Experience with EMIS and video/telephone consultations required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face and telephone clinical sessions in line with the timetable.
• Carry out home visits, queries, and repeat prescription checks and signing.
• Action test results and write medical reports, including insurance examinations.
• Assess, examine, diagnose, treat and refer patients with medical problems.
• Provide core GP services under the PMS contract, including child health surveillance.
• Undertake duty doctor and paperwork rota duties.
• Run extended-hours surgeries and provide cross-cover at other practices.
• Issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
• Provide free certification under Schedule 9 of NHS GMS Regulations.
• Lead on a key disease area, covering QOF trends, training and prescribing.
• Participate in practice-based commissioning, enhanced services, audits, and returns.
• Train Nurses, medical students, and GP trainees; attend meetings.
