Maternity-Cover Assistant Management Accountant

Job summary

SF Recruitment are currently exclusively recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join a business in North Derby on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

Working as part of a small finance team, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and work closely with the AP Manager. This is a varied, hands-on position offering a genuine mix of month-end accounting responsibilities and transactional finance duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in a varied finance role with month-end exposure.
• Hands-on approach across transactional finance and month-end duties.
• Comfort with data, systems and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end activities, posting journals and prepayments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and supplier invoices.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and goods receipts.
• Resolve supplier invoice queries and maintain records.
• Process stock adjustments and fixed asset postings.
• Raise intercompany recharge invoices and support reporting.
• Support wider finance team and identify process improvements.
