Job description

Element Materials Technologies seeks to recruit a Materials Testing Engineer (Hydrogen) interested in material testing and characterization, with a focus on hydrogen environments.

As part of our operations team in Hitchin, the Materials Testing Engineer (Hydrogen) will perform and develop routine and non-routine testing, analysis, and investigations. The engineer should be proficient in mechanical engineering fundamentals, safety rules, and company policies.

This hands-on role involves laboratory testing of components and samples, customer interaction, project management, and technical reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support development of new testing technologies
  • Design, install, and maintain lab equipment
  • Participate in project setup, testing, and reporting
  • Ensure safety and quality standards
  • Develop standard operating procedures

Skills / Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with at least 2 years of experience, or BSc with 5+ years of proven experience
  • Knowledge of test machines, drives, and control technology
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Understanding of testing machines and ability to multitask
