Job summary

Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon (SW19) is seeking a Materials Supplies Lead to support Stores operations, inventory control, and supply chain logistics for clinical consumables, surgical instruments and medical equipment.

You will coordinate stock, assist with supplier deliveries, and help ensure the right kit is available when needed in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role offers a steady daytime schedule at 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience with inventory and stock control.
• Proficiency with Excel and IT systems.
• Desirable experience with SAP.
• Experience in hospital or fast-moving environments desirable.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to changes.
• Self-starter who coordinates with theatre colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Stores orders and deliveries, store put-away and reorganisation.
• Manage hospital consumables, prosthesis, loan stock, hire and equipment, including returns.
• Maintain product levels without overstocking in collaboration with clinical heads and consultants.
• Track spending, manage local vendor deliveries, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Process purchase orders, invoices, overdue queries, and delivery issues with suppliers.
• Minimise AP queries and respond to supplier inquiries in a timely manner.
• Support the manager on improvement projects and cover responsibilities during absences.

Materials Supplies Lead

Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital | Wimbledon SW19 5NX | Stores | Perm | 37.5 hours | 9am-5pm | Monday to Friday

We are looking for a Materials Supplies Lead to support the manager in Stores. You will assist the manager with the daily inventory, stock control, and supply chain logistics for clinical consumables, surgical instruments, and medical equipment. You will be an organised team player capable of working under pressure with a keen eye for detail, good IT and leadership skills

As a Materials Supplies Lead You Will

• Co-ordinate Stores orders and deliveries, put away stock and assist with re-organisation of the storage areas and updating records.
• Ensure that all Hospital consumables, prosthesis, loan stock, hire and equipment are managed efficiently and effectively, including processing of returns
• Work closely with clinical heads and consultants to maintain required product levels without overstocking
• Track spending, manage local vendor deliveries, and ensure regulatory compliance
• Ensure that all hospital-related purchase orders are processed and managed accurately and efficiently, including invoice reconciliation and the timely follow-up of overdue purchase orders, supplier queries, and delivery issues
• Work with the team, other departments and suppliers to ensure that AP queries are kept to a minimum and processed in a timely manner
• Provide support to the manager to complete improvement projects and to manage the team and cover responsibilities during absences

Who We're Looking For

• Good IT skills, including use of Excel.
• Experience of working with stock processes and management would be desirable
• Experience of SAP would be desirable.
• Experience of working in a Hospital environment or a demanding, fast-moving environment would be desirable.
• Should be resilient and able to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Must be a self-starter and who can work closely with theatre colleagues and take full responsibility for managing the consumable, prosthesis and loan stocks so that the appropriate kit is in place in time.
