Job description

Materials Scheduler - Redditch - £28-35,000 per annum - Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm (Office based)
About the Role

Are you a highly organised supply chain professional with a knack for scheduling and an eye for detail? We’re looking for a Materials Scheduler to join a thriving manufacturing business and play a key role in ensuring smooth production operations. You’ll be a central part of the supply chain team, responsible for the timely procurement and scheduling of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging — keeping everything running like clockwork!

This is a fast-paced, people-focused environment where collaboration with suppliers, internal departments, and commercial teams is key. If you enjoy juggling priorities, building strong relationships, and keeping things moving efficiently — this is your time to shine.

Key Responsibilities for this Materials Scheduler Role
  • Develop and manage material schedules to meet production needs, minimising waste and inventory issues.
  • Raise purchase orders and track timely delivery from external suppliers.
  • Analyse customer forecasts and adjust volume requirements accordingly.
  • Proactively resolve supply chain disruptions and maintain strong supplier communication.
  • Monitor inbound deliveries and take swift action to avoid production shortages.
  • Manage inventory to agreed levels, keeping waste to a minimum.
  • Liaise with internal teams (commercial, technical, operations, warehouse) to ensure full alignment.
  • Maintain detailed records of materials, usage, supplier performance, and waste.
  • Uphold food safety, product quality, brand integrity, and health and safety standards.
What We're Looking For In this Materials Scheduler Role
  • A confident communicator – both written and verbal – who can liaise across all levels.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, internally and externally.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a constantly changing business environment.
  • IT proficiency – advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, handle pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work weekends or adapt to shift patterns as required.
Why Apply for this Materials Scheduler Role
  • Be part of a supportive team that values teamwork, quality, honesty, and passion.
  • Join a company where behaviours and mindset are just as important as skills.
  • Opportunity to grow — this role suits someone who can develop towards more senior competency levels.
  • Play a key role in keeping production and customer service on track — your work truly matters!
  • Life assurance from day one
  • 4% employer pension contributions
  • Retailer discounts
  • Access to a wellbeing platform, including 24/7 GP hotline
