Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Goodwood invites students to join as a Technology, Material and Process Analyst Intern for a placement year starting July 2027. You will support apprentice onboarding and engage in laboratory testing, data interpretation and reporting while learning from experts.

You will gain hands-on experience across metals, chemistry and process materials, contribute to future projects, and collaborate with teams at multiple sites within the BMW Group network.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in materials science, chemistry, surface technology, plastics technology or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in a laboratory environment and material analysis is desirable.
• Knowledge of BMW processes and business is desirable.
• Analytical thinking and teamwork, IT skills, and structured working method.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental impacts.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Learn laboratory research in an agile environment.
• Develop and execute testing plans; evaluate complex investigations.
• Interpret results, generate recommendations, and create test reports.
• Support development of test methods and improve existing ones.
• Collaborate with process partners across sites.
• Engage in cross-site collaboration with plants and labs.
