The Opportunity

Are you ready to lead with purpose and precision in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment? We're looking for a passionate and experienced Materials Planning Manager to join our Planning team at The Cornwall Bakery, part of the Samworth Brothers group. Your role will involve managing the end-to-end materials supply process, ensuring coordination among suppliers, production teams, procurement, and the wider supply chain to deliver outstanding customer service at optimal cost while mitigating risks and driving continuous improvement.

• Lead and develop the Materials Planning team through coaching, support, and training.
• Ensure material availability through accurate forecasting and supplier management.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve material quality or supply issues.
• Conduct supplier reviews and support procurement with demand insights.
• Champion continuous improvement in processes, inventory, cost, and waste reduction.
• Monitor performance using KPIs and drive strategic actions based on data insights.

The Ideal Candidate

• A degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Solid background in materials planning or scheduling, preferably in chilled food manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Lean or TOC principles and inventory optimisation.
• Strong organisational, analytical, and people management skills.
