Job summary

Ashby Finance Ltd is seeking an experienced Material Controller to join the Supply Chain & Logistics team. The role focuses on ensuring materials and components are available exactly when needed to keep production running smoothly and to support high-quality output.

You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to manage availability, resolve shortages and minimise disruption to production plans.

• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to managing shortages and risks.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and control the supply of materials to support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively manage material shortages.
• Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve supply issues before they impact build schedules.
• Use MRP systems to interpret demand and generate material requirements.
• Manage supplier communications, expediting deliveries and supporting supplier performance.
• Provide regular updates on material status, shortages and recovery plans.
• Identify potential supply chain risks and implement actions to minimise production disruption.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across material planning and supply processes.
